The last day of our high Sierra trip a storm settled over us. Three men in a tiny tent with lightning and rain thrashing outside, and the next morning a 7 1/2 mile trek starting at 9100 feet, down to 8300, back up to 9000, and down again to 7800, all in the pouring rain with 35 pound packs on our backs. This was after two days and 9 1/2 miles of lake-hopping, fishing, and a wild windy climb up broken granite cliffs to a 10,400 foot peak. Man am I tired.
