Crashbox

I just got back from riding my bike up over the Highway 33 to Bakersfield for an evening of music and fun. This was my first long trip with the bike, and it performed better than I expected. Though not a fast bike, it held an easy 70mph for most of the ride with out problems. I way over-estimated the gas mileage though---it gets almost exactly 40 miles to the gallon. On the way down from Pine mountain it ran out! Luckily some very nice folks in a '72 Chevy truck tossed it in the back for me and hauled me and Yamaha down to Ojai (they were headed that way already). It also really doesn't like 87 octane gas when it's really hot out (like 115 in Maricopa). Good times.
